Mariani & Little Walley & Chuckwagon Charlie

"I am a lover of all animals and wildlife. When I learned that Habitat was including the Central Nebraska Humane Society in their event to reach potential adopters and possibly adopt that night, I knew I had to be a part of this event and support both Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society. It was an easy decision - and the new Executive Director, Alyssa Heagy, has a way of roping you in with her enthusiasm without you even knowing what is happening!" - Michelle Mariani

Why I Support GIAHFH

"Prior to becoming involved with Habitat for Humanity I understood they provided homes for low-income families.  Since I have become involved, I’ve seen firsthand that Habitat for Humanity is a life changing organization that starts by providing a home, but this is just the foundation of how they change the lives of people.   The pride of ownership is the foundation for families to walk with their head up.  It creates a path for all members of the family to become confident in themselves.  This confidence allows them to pursue opportunities such as finishing school, higher education, and to secure good jobs and vigorously pursue improvement in all facets of their lives.  Habitat allows them to feel they are equal, are worthy of flourishing, and gives them hope for a bright future.   The fact that Habitat also works with so many other non-profits to connect people to quality food, schooling, and basic needs to help them reach their goals.  I am proud to be a part of this life changing organization."
